Chamber member hopes to pave the way for a deserving veteran

B&M Quality Paving giving away a complete residential asphalt driveway

Every so often, a story comes along that reminds us why we love doing business in this region — not because of the bottom line, but because of the heart behind it. This year, that story belongs to B & M Quality Paving LLC of Greenfield.

In honor of Veterans Day, B & M Quality Paving is giving away a complete residential asphalt driveway project to a veteran in need. It's a simple idea with a powerful impact: a safe, solid driveway can mean the difference between independence and isolation for a veteran facing mobility challenges.

For many veterans, a cracked, uneven, or deteriorating driveway isn't just an inconvenience — it's a genuine safety hazard, especially for those using wheelchairs, walkers, or canes. B & M Quality Paving built this giveaway with that reality in mind. Priority consideration will be given to veterans dealing with:

  • Wheelchair or mobility-device accessibility needs
  • Unsafe walking or vehicle access
  • Severely deteriorated or failing driveway conditions

This isn't a raffle or a popularity contest. The recipient will be selected by a current U.S. Air Force service member and a U.S. Navy veteran, based on need, safety, and project feasibility — a selection process rooted in genuine care for those who served.

Who Can Apply

The giveaway is open to veterans who own their home in one of eight regional counties: Highland, Ross, Fayette, Clinton, Pike, Pickaway, Brown, and Adams. Because Ross County is included, this is an opportunity right in our own backyard — a chance for our community to rally around one of our own veterans.

How to Nominate or Apply

Know a veteran who could use this help? Or are you a veteran homeowner yourself? Here's how to get involved:

Full official terms, eligibility details, and the application form are available in the giveaway packet. Applicants should avoid submitting Social Security numbers or unredacted military records — proof of service will only be requested from the selected finalist. For questions, reach out to B & M Quality Paving directly at bmqualitypavingllc@yahoo.com.

The winner is expected to be announced around Veterans Day, with the project completed on or near that date (exact dates may shift due to weather or scheduling).

A Reminder of What Community Looks Like

Stories like this are exactly why we love highlighting the businesses that make up our region. B & M Quality Paving didn't have to do this — they chose to, because giving back to those who gave everything matters to them. That's the kind of collaborative, community-first spirit that makes our area stronger.

If you know a veteran who could benefit from a safer, more accessible home, take a few minutes today to nominate them. Sometimes the most meaningful way to say "thank you for your service" is to help pave the way forward — literally.
